Hardly a piece of laughter here. The classified ad that we see in India is plain and simple suggesting “Grooms wanted” or “Brides wanted”. However our western counterparts like Austin, Texas, Dallas take it a little further and the advertisements are addressed as “Apples seeking Bananas”, “Bananas seeking Apples”, “Apples seeking Apples”, and “Bananas seeking Bananas”.
It will be a while till our society accepts Gays and lesbians equally deserving as every other individual, and a little more time till we find their marriage advertisements in our news columns. But this innovative and rather fancy style of advertising is surely the western part and parcel. Wait till Apples and Bananas find way in our Indian Market and acceptance from our parents.
